Two Historic Recordings on one video!
This video give a picture of three legendary champions in two separate matches: Jahangir Khan vs Geoff Hunt in the 1981 World Open and Jansher Khan vs Jahangir Khan in one of their last professional encounters at the Canadian Open 1990.
The 1981 match was a famous encounter between upcoming teenager (and future legend) Jahangir and defending world open champ Hunt. Jahangir had previously beaten Hunt in the UK but the conventional wisdom was that Hunt would prevail in something as important as the world open.
Jahangir came out and kept Hunt on the court for about one hour in the first game (!!!). He lost the game but won the match.
This early recording has a few small rough spots near the beginning of the recording and does not show the entire 60 minutes of the first game. Otherwise a wonderful and important recording. Surprisingly easy to follow the ball and the play.
The 1990 matches were filmed by Jean Delierre, the earlier one by CBC with Delierre was on the crew. The 1990 match is in color, the 81 match in black and white.
